GRCHS Moves from Class A to Class B

For the first time since the 1987-1988 school year, Grand Rapids Christian High School (GRCHS) will be classified as a Class B school by the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA). With 1,000 students enrolled at Christian High, the Eagles find themselves below the 1,017 students required for the Class A classification. This will directly affect both basketball and volleyball as the MHSAA still uses the “class” system to divide schools into tournaments for those sports. For all other sports, the MHSAA divides the number of schools offering specific sports into four equal divisions (eight divisions for football).

With the end of the 99-year-old City League, the Eagles have joined the O-K Conference, a conference with its own traditions and history. The O-K Conference was established 50 years ago and is the largest conference in the State of Michigan. It has 51 schools and seven different divisions, each named a color. GRCHS will participate in the O.K. White Division along with Northview, Creston, East Grand Rapids, Greenville and Lowell.

Join Us for Homecoming Friday, October 3

Join us as we continue a new tradition – Homecoming in the fall. Support your alma mater at the football game by wearing GRCHS school colors when the Eagles play Creston on Friday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Eagles Stadium.

Cheer on the Eagles while reminiscing with your fellow classmates. Highlights of the evening will include floats created by each high school class and the presentation of this year’s court.

Pre-game tickets can be purchased at the GRCHS office on game day. $5 tickets are also available at the gate the night of the game, if it is not sold out.
