Grand Rapids Christian Schools is pleased to be able to offer recreational programs for preschool through 8th grade. All GRCS, Rockford Christian and the Greater Grand Rapids Community are welcome!
GRCS believes very strongly that all athletes regardless of sport or ability level should have fun and improve their skills through quality coaches and instruction. We see children as image bearers of Christ, living out the physical gifts with which God has blessed them. The goal of the Athletic and Recreation Department of GRCS is to provide a Christ-centered, excellent athletic experience for all ability levels furthering each child's journey toward developing the full potential of his or her own gifts in God's Kingdom

Summer Football Camp
Three days of football fun. Boys will be divided into groups according to Rocket Leagues and will be coached by GRCS High School Varsity players. Grade as of the Fall of 2013. Fall Flag Football
Do you have a boy interested in playing football, but not yet old enough for Rocket? This is where they start! Three games are played at the GR Christian Stadium on Saturday afternoons. Practices are held on Tuesdays. Participants from all schools are welcome. Registrations are taken online or mailed in through August 9, 2013. Age as of November 1, 2013. - 4-7 years old (4-5 year league, 6-7 year league)
- Practices are held at Gainey Athletic Fields
- Practice days are Tuesdays, Aug.27 – Sept. 28.
- Games will be played on September 14, 21 and 28
- Cost: $30, includes a team t-shirt
- VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED.
Fall Volunteer Coaches/Assistants
Volunteer Coaches and Assistants are needed for all programs. If interested, please sign up at the Registration Event or send in forms, including a copy of your driver’s license, by July 31, 2013. Click here for the registration form. Expectations for coaches or assistants are as follows:

Must attend 2 Coaches Meetings: (NRFL and GRCS) (Rocket only)

Must submit a driver’s license and Coaches form by July 31, background checks will be performed. (Flag & Rocket)

Must take and pass USA Football’s Coaches & Assistants Certification or Re-Certification Program. (Rocket only)

Fall Rocket Football
The mission of GRCYF is to teach the fun and fundamentals of the game of football. Every athlete will be given an opportunity for playing time. Players must supply their own equipment. Signups are taken online with a credit card or mailed in with payment. 4 Registration forms MUST be mailed in regardless registration method. Due: August 9, ’13. - 8-14 years old
- Practices are 3 times a week, held at various fields: MVP Fieldhouse, Gainey Athletic Fields, GR Christian
- Practices start week of August 19, days & times TBD.
- Games are played on Saturdays mornings, at varying times and locations.
- Cost: $75 to play and $40 for jersey. $5 goes to entry fee for Youth Rocket Night.
- Those who are new to the program: a copy of the athlete’s birth certificate must be included at the time of signups.

Fall Big Ten Football
The mission of the Big Ten Football league is to provide the first instruction to the plays and techniques they will be using for the next 4 years. Players must supply their own equipment. Signups are taken online with a credit card or mailed in with payment. 4 Registration forms MUST be mailed in regardless of method of registration. Due Aug. 9. - Practices are 3 times a week, held at various fields: MVP Fieldhouse, Gainey Athletic Fields, GR Christian
- Practice starts the week of August 12, days and time TBD.
- Games are played on Wednesday evenings at the Eagles Stadium and various surrounding schools.
- Courtesy of GR Christian HS Football program the cost to play is free. Jerseys are free and collected at end of season.
