Black Tie Blue Jeans is Grand Rapids Christian’s signature fundraising event. The goal of Black Tie Blue Jeans is to impact every student by raising $550,000 towards financial aid and Student Support Services through the Eagles Fund. Enjoy great food and the opportunity to interact with our Keynote Speaker and Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient in this new venue.
Black Tie Blue Jeans means dress up, come in blue jeans, or a little of both!

Kavon Frazier,
Class of 2012
After graduating from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 2012, Kavon Frazier went on to Central Michigan University and was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 6th round of the NFL Draft.
Since his career as a professional football player began, Kavon has made it his mission to better the lives of people in communities with limited resources. In 2017, Kavon founded the Frazier Cares Foundation. This organization provides a helping hand to both parents and children living a purposeful life.

We are honored to present this year’s Richard M. DeVos Distinguished Alumni Award to James Haveman, Jr, in recognition of his devotion to Christian education and distinguished history of public service, management, and volunteer work.
A social worker by training, Haveman has influenced and invested his talents and resources to impact various organizations. A recognized public servant, his work has benefited individuals in our local community and worldwide.
